Benefits of design and engineering jobs with Continental Design & Engineering
The following benefits are available to all active Continental Design & Engineering
employees. Length of service has an effect on the access of some benefits.
Paid Vacations
All full-time, regular contract employees are eligible for one week of vacation after
one year of service.
Paid Holidays
All full-time employees are eligible for 6 paid holidays. These holidays are New Years
Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Health/Dental Insurance
All permanent employees who work 30 hours or more per week and are not GM retirees,
are eligible for medical/dental insurance coverage. Continental Design offers this coverage
for its full-time employees and their dependents (co-pays will vary). There is a 30 day
waiting period to activate insurance benefits.
Referral Bonus Plan
Continental Design will pay $150.00 to an employee that refers a contract person to
Continental Design for employment, after the new employee has been with CD&E for 90
days.
Employee Recognition
All employees will be recognized on their birthday and also at Christmas.
Life / AD & D Insurance
All permanent employees who work 30 hours or more per week and are not GM retirees,
are eligible for $10,000 life insurance along with a $10,000 AD&D insurance. This coverage
is provided at no extra cost to the employee.
Cafeteria 125 - Flexible Spending
Employees are eligible to enroll in the Cafeteria 125 Plan which enables them to deduct
up to $5,000 per year, tax-free from their paycheck for medical expenses not covered under
insurance (deductibles, vision care, co-pays, etc.). Employees may also deduct up to $5,000
per year, tax-free from their paycheck for childcare or dependent care expenses. These
expenses may be reimbursed monthly. At the end of the year, unused deductions are nonrefundable.
Short/Long Term Disability
Employees are eligible to enroll in the short-term and long-term disability plans through
American United Life Insurance Company. These plans cover 60% of your salary up to $5,000
per month.
401(k) Plan
Continental Design & Engineering has established a 401(k) retirement plan through
SYM Financial Corporation. This plan enables the employee to contribute up to a maximum
of 25% of his/her income to the retirement plan. This contribution cannot exceed the IRS
yearly limit.
Paid Personal Days
Employees have two personal days per year, non-accumulative, that may be used after
one year of employment.
Temp-to-perm, permanent and executive staffing
In addition to temporary and contract staffing, Continental also services our clients
with temp-to-perm, permanent hire and executive staffing services. All staffing departments
at Continental have access to the same resume database. Indicate which types of design
or engineering jobs you are interested in when you submit your resume and you be include
in all job searches.
